Side A: “Jamaica Avenue” (Live September ‘23)

Take a stroll with Julius and meet him where the coordinates reach Jamaica, NY as he flips The Ledgend’s 1970 release “Fear Not”.

Being released earth-wide as his first ever Live Single on his birthday 10/19 as a gift to you,

The September 2023 performance was recorded live as a surprise in front of an intimate audience as Julius showcases his inner rhythmic, mind and sequence selection capabilities; Putting them all to the test, he is pressing in all sample sequences using nothing other than his ears and fingers, back and forth from his mind, ears and soul over this unmixed, as is, soul genre single. 

Paying homage and serving as an extension and summary entry to his Online Journal post “The Essence of Carrying on Tradition”, the self proclaimed ‘Street Therapist’ practices what he preaches and proves that he can hold his own, Live, without computer sequencing for a polished finished product - just as his elder producers and DJ’s did in the 80s-90s era of block parties using just the vinyl back and forth.

This performance is entitled ‘Jamaica Ave’ to pay homage to his family and second home where the love of this style of True hip hop was instilled in him from a young age. The performance serves as a thesis statement for a possible future project release Julius is in the planning stages of creating… hold this until then.

Side AA: “Canal Street” 

This one isn’t a live performance but is now being released worldwide publicly beyond its initial listeners in its mixed and album ready format.

With an World genre meets southern drums -  along with NY style sample chop aesthetic, Julius’ adolescent learned skills, as expressed in ‘Jamaica Ave.’, help this tune complement the international atmosphere of the street it is named after.

(Canal St, in Manhattan is also known as the Chinatown Market. This single is entitled after the notorious street shopping area in NYC where various nationalities of street vendors would sell bootlegs, streetwear and mixtapes amongst various other items. It served as a center for a hustlers ambition through marketing from the people, for the people, and merchants alike at the ground level until the late 2000s.)

Originally created during the sessions of Julius’ debut album release Heir Radio, the Russian lush sampled effort Canal Street is made now available and serves its purpose as a glimpse of some of the songs that didn’t make the final album track-list created in 2021.
